Welcome

My name is Thomas and I started Simply Creative for You, initially to build web sites that live up to your expectations.

Isn't this the intent of every web-designer, you may ask. Well yes, or at least that's what it should be. Let me ask you: How often do you get frustrated while surfing the net, because the pages you want to look at take ages to load, don't have a clear message, are confusing and so on and so on? They may look nice, but is this good web-design!?? Well you decide, usually by going on to the next site.

Consequently I aim to produce sites, which have a clear message and are clearly structured.

Another very important aspect of web-design is web marketing. If you want to market your site successfully, you have to lay the groundwork in the coding (design) of the pages. You actually have to start looking at the marketing aspect before you decide on how to present your web-content.

You want to find out what people are looking for with regards to what you are about to offer. Once you know that, you want to know how many competitors you have. Putting both elements together, you find your niche. Its just a little bit of work and a small investment. Your return on this investment will be huge.

Now writing about marketing and suggesting strategies is one thing. I want to show you that it really works!

Legal Services
Two subjects really interest me, besides web-design: Photography and the Legal System. With regards to the legal system, I found that you are kind of riding at the edge of disaster, if you do not have some sort of legal insurance. At least you should have a catalogue of references you can turn to if you need legal advice. I compiled such a catalogue and also found legal plans. Since I am kind of lazy, I opt for a legal plan. To share my knowledge and experience with you, I set up the Legal Services site.

Photography
Photography is not only a service I offer but also my hobby. I have a pile of photographs and quite a number are taken with a digital camera. I can take these, put them on a disk and go to my photolab to have them printed. On the other hand, I could save myself a trip, if I could upload the pictures to the lab via the internet.

To find out what you and other people think about this idea, I set up a questionnaire in the Photography section. I really hope to find a lot of people who think its a good idea. If it happens, I will set up the service together with the photolab I work with.

Computer, Computing, Information Technology (IT)
Finally, I have been around computers since 1983. Started up with an Apple III and continued on to a DEC Rainbow running the CPM operating system. CPM didn't make it (actually too bad) and I moved on into the Microsoft World. That was in 1985! At the same time, I was instrumental in buying and administering the first UNIX workstation for the research group I belonged to at the time.

Over the years I have learned a lot about computers and computing. Today, I am happy to share my experience with you. This is at the core of the IT-Consulting service I offer.

Security
Security of computers connected to the internet is one of the latest aspects I got highly interested in. I am consulting a Company with regards to their computing infrastructure and are also administering it. They will connect in the near future to the internet via a semi-permanent high speed connection. I need to make sure that nobody will be able to intrude in their system.

Have a look at Bare Naked and see what I found. Its unbelievable! Use the resources I mention to find out if you are also bare naked, without knowing it and use the resources to "cover up"!
